Early Bird Deadline: Northeast Tionól, Oct 21-24, 2011

The August 15 closing date for early-bird registration is fast approaching, so we thought this would be a good time to explain a few changes we’ve made this year.

It really helps us when people register in advance, because we choose the rooms for each class and workshop based on how many people have signed up: classes and workshops with lots of participants get bigger rooms, those with just a few participants get smaller rooms. When we have a flurry of last-minute registrations, we are faced with the logistical challenge of shifting classes to different rooms.

This year, we decided to cut off online registration after October 10 and raise the price of on-site registration to $160 as way to encourage more people to sign up in advance. This will give us time to determine how many students will be in each class and workshop, communicate that information to the instructors, and assign rooms accordingly.

We know that some folks can’t commit in advance due to uncertainties in schedules and finances, and that’s fine — you can still sign up on-site. But for everyone else, it really helps if you sign up in advance. Thanks for your understanding!
