Greetings all,
I’ve recently acquired an 8 keyed flute that requires opening the Eb key to bring an E up to pitch. Because the pinky is rooted on the Eb key, my usual method of rolling an E, lifting and popping fingers 4 and 6, is not crisp enough due to finger 6 being constrained by the active pinky. I’m trying out other ways to roll the E and am wondering what others are using. A cran seems to work pretty well, or using a left hand pinky on the G# key in combination with 6 shows promise.
So my question to Boosey owners or others who play with an open Eb is: How are your rolling your E?
