Hi,
Dan here from Abbottstown, PA. Any kind of get-togethers planned for Chiff & Fipple members at the Dublin (Ohio) Irish Festival in August? My first visit to this festival. Has anyone been going to this festival last year or two? Any open sessions evenings after festival each day? Anyone know if any whistle makers hit this festival or are hitting it this year?

Hi Dan, and welcome. Nice to see another PA member of the board! Actually, you live pretty close to my in-laws, who right now are in Carlisle but are in the process of buying some land in Biglerville to build a house.
I’m not planning to go to the Dublin, OH festival (that’s a bit far from my end of the state), but it sounds like fun. I hope you have a good time, and report back here on the board what it’s like.

Thanks Dan. Not real likely, though. We usually just go out on weekends. This whole job thing keeps getting in the way of going out during the week. Nice to hear there are so many sessions going on out there, though!

Hi Dan -
I live in the Dublin area and I will be at the festival at some point or another. I’ve been going to the festival for the past 4 or so years.
In past years there has been a seisiun tent somewhere on the grounds. Don’t know if that will be true this year or not.
Seisiuns usually take place at one of the local hotels after the festival ends. There are a number of pubs/restaurants in the area, too.
Michael Burke has been there in past years, but don’t know if he will be there this year. The appearance schedule on his web site is from 2000. He usually does pretty good business at the DIF - hopefully he will be back this year.
