Since I started U.P.'s, my whistle playing has gone downhill a bit. I keep trying to play D by lifting my thumb. DUH! No hole back there! Has anyone ever drilled a hole on the back of a whistle to make the fingering closer to a chanter? I’ve got some spare Generation D’s laying around that I might experiment on.

Thank you, but
AAAAAAAAAAAH! WHISTLERS! ![]()
I got a few out of tune tubes I have thought about messing with to do a back D hole (I hadn’t thought about the ghost D though).
I never got around to it once I could play the piping tunes on the whistle and vers visa.
I don’t think it would work on my favorite, though, the Clarke orig.
