Anyone seen it?
Strangest movie I’ve ever watched.
Yes, rather strange. I enjoyed it, though, despite its pervading teenage angst. 
Much food for thought there. Kept me busy for weeks.
Seen it twice. Have the DVD. I like it a lot.
Flawed, and I think there is just a hint of emperor’s new clobber about it, but it’s way, way above average.
I might watch it again this week, actually.
I couldn’t find anything of worth in it; just another teenage angst movie blended with a bit of horror genre. Dumb.
Anyone seen this PBS film about artist (?) Henry Darger. Now there was one seriously traumatized kid who never recovered. And its real life. You couldn’t make this guy up. Blockbuster has it on DVD.

The kids are climbing onto a roof peak, as if escaping a coming flood.
The girls are praying, and one boy is looking hauntedly over his
shoulder. It’s like Norman Rockwell gone bad.
The special features on the DVD go a long way to explain what happened. The director’s commentary helps too, and gives away a few things I didn’t notice.
But I liked the movie. Also liked the song at the end.

Yes, I was planning on checking out the special features but me and my brother have been picking it apart for a few hours and I’m seeing if we get it right.
I disagree about the teen angst because this isn’t about a troubled kid, its about a troubled kid, he doesn’t have ADD he’s experiencing an alternate universe. You could probably replace him with an adult and it would be the same story. I also thought the acting on his part was pretty decent.
And I also enjoyed the last song, I’ve been humming it all day.
EDIT: And it certainly wasn’t a horror movie. The back of the Rogers’ box describes it as ‘Mystery’ which I would agree with.
When I heard the song, I immediately said, “WAIT! That’s not Tears for Fears…”
Personally, I like the Gary Jules version better (that’s the one in the movie).
yep, got it on dvd. strange. must see it again one day. 
Gary Jules did an amazing job on that song. I can’t watch that movie without that song invading my head for a week…and it’s so morbid.
TFF wrote a great song there, but Jules made it come alive.
That’s one of my favorite movies! I love movies that leave the viewer trying to puzzle out what the heck is going on (Memento, Eternal Sunshine, etc). That’s why I liked the regular version, as opposed to the Director’s cut, because the regular version leaves you wondering, “Is there something supernatural going on, or is this kid just crazy?”
I love the music, too…it brings me back to my middle school days…

Donnie Darko, Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind, Requiem for a Dream, and Pi remind me of each other, because I watched them at around the same time, and they were all somewhat strange.
I saw Requiem and Pi on the same day. Coincidentally, I think they’re by the same director. I enjoyed them both immensely.
Eternal Sunshine I saw more recently, and I was so impressed with it. Really wonderful performances all around (even a surprisingly good showing by Mary Jane).
