Donnacha O’Muinneachain has sadly passed away but its not Donnacha the piper from Cork.
I’m sure there are still some of you who know Donnacha O’Muinneachain the set dancer from Dublin.
Still a sad loss. I’ve gotten over the shock of a good friend passing to find out another did pass.
Apologies to friends or family of piper Donnacha (and himself) for that blunderous error.

I went to whistle lessons in the seventies out in Cultureland in Monkstown and knew Donnchada from there. He taught set dancing well before the set dancing craze but it was as a step dancer that he was best known back then. There used to be a great weekend in Gormanstown back then and he used to ‘call’ at the ceili.
I have very fond memories of those times (I was chasing this young one and I even took a few dancing lessons to impress here; didn’t make it as a dancer but it really helped my rhythm) and he was part of the set up.
I also used to meet him in The North Star in Amien Street.
I’m sorry to hear of his death
