I visited a website where someome had been to Ireland and purchased a two piece"pocket Whistle" by a maker named Dolin. has anyone heard of these whistles or know where to get them?
Short of that are there any other makers of inexpensive two piece pocket whistles and where can you get them?

Actually, it’s a Doolin, and it’s a mass-produced (inexpensive) whistle. It comes in one- and two-piece models, so if you order one, be sure the vendor has what you want.

I just got a Clare Eagle model. It will probably loosen at the joint with age and use, but it works great while I’m waiting for my Laughing telescopic from Noah Herbison. I must say at first I was unimpressed with the sound of the Clare, thought it was plain, but the design made me play it enough to find its personality. I got the Clare from House of Musical Traditions when I ordered a Shaw at the same time, but I believe they carry them at the Whistle Shop (both online).

Shanna Quay also carry the Clare two-piece, but say the Doolin two-piece is no longer being made, and they no longer have stock of such. I’d get one for interest if I saw one elsewhere at a reasonable price.
I like the Clare, though I find the Cnat requires only a little too much air to go sharp. Still, that’s good for practising breathing.
I’ve got one of the Clare two-piece whistles. The one I have is pretty nice for a cheapy whistle. It doesn’t have any annoying characteristics (buzzing, squaking, fuzziness, etc…), but the oxxooo Cnat is off a bit.

I agree Lisa, I too have not been impressed with the sound/playability of the Clare 2 piece although the 2-piece concept is hard to resist. I replaced my Clare mouthpiece with a great Generation mouthpiece. Now I have a terrific little whistle that fits into a pocket and plays well too!
