Iâm sorry. As much as I love the south, I just CANNOT do grits (I canât do cream of wheat or maypo, either). Itâs not the taste, itâs the texture that gets to me. However, Tom likes them - he puts Tabasco on them.
I canât do âsweetâ tea, either. If I wanted a glucose drip in my arm, Iâd put one there.
But biscuits and REAL sausage gravy? Now THATâS good eatinâ!!!
Ihop is not a good example of good American cooking, any more than Ryanâs Staekhouse is representative of âgood backyard grillingâ. Itâs relatively bland, tastless stuff that can get knocked out in a hurry for folks who have neither the time, money, or abilty inclination to serve up some good breakfast for themselves.
Yup, or people on holiday who need somewhere they can eat after a five hour flight followed by an hour getting from the airport to their hotel, on a rainy Sunday evening in Boston and itâs the only place open within range that isnât McDonalds.
I havenât tried âEasy Cheeseâ but its a safe bet its not Dublin cheddar. I prefer cheeses which which play hard to get instead of âeasyâ cheeses.
