does anyone want to sell . . .

In the archives, someone mentioned just asking if anyone wants to sell a whistle you’re interested in. I find myself thinking about those unavailable Hoovers . . . does anyone with a lot of wonderful whistles feel a need (or in any case, a willingness) to part with a Hoover high D? If so, please let me know!

Thanks,
TK

TK: You have probably seen the post, but John Allison has a Hoover A for trade…I am very much an afficianado of Mack’s whistles. I use a set of Hoovers and a set of Burkes almost exclusively. I know you are looking for a D whistle. As you know, Mack is taking an indefinite hiatus from making whistles. IMHO, the A from John will make an excellent substitute, a whistle you will find useful, even after Mack makes you a D, in the future. I use my untunable A for D tunes, all the time. It gives a full body to the sound, as the A whistle is, of course, larger.
You may wish to contact John…
Cheers and good luck in your search.

TK: Seems as if John Allison’s Hoover A is still up for trade/sale… IMHO, you can’t go wrong…Even if it is a D you want, and may eventually receive, the A would make an excellent addition to your collection, whether you are using it in the key of A or D…
The best to you.
Cheers.

Thanks, byll. I found someone willing to sell me a D, so I’ll be all set soon. Of course, I need something other than the Feadog for the car, and some inexpensive whistles in keys other than D, and I still like the looks of the Dixon, and a Susato or three would be nice . . . I’m afraid to even look at the page of expensive whistles .
