The shot of Billy Clifford confirms a long-held impression of mine that he played a Rudall Carte & Co. Radcliff model (as did Paddy Carty and Paddy Taylor).
Aha, I was just listening to Paddy Carty and the man’s seemingly supernatural command of the chromatic is all clear to me now.

and it’s seems billy was playing a Radcliff model, true.

Billy plays both the Radcliffe and a wooden Boehm. Out of the takes he recorded for inclusion on Wooden Flute Obsession 2, the Boehm came out the best. The tonal quality was very similar. I think I preferred the Radcliffe, but the mechanism was perhaps not as robust or responsive. I’m sorry that I cannot share the other tunes he played without his permission, but they may show up on something of his later.
