Do all Feadogs sound this well?

Dude, it’s my eyes that do that, not the glasses…

LOL.

I think Tommy’s original post was about the Feadog tubes, not about Feadog whistles (head + tube). Some of those are better than others; but I’ve not seen a bad Feadog tube (and will often use a tweaked Gen-head on a Feadog tube).

So Buddhu how do I get my eyes to do that? Lots of of caffine or something else?

Yes bloomfield the thread was mostly about the Feadog tone tube, but one person said that theirs went out of tune with a differant head. That was interesting. Maybe that head would not go on the tube far enough.

That explains our disagreement, then. I was thinking of the head and the tube, not just the tube.

I don’t drink coffee, and I haven’t done ‘something else’ for 20 years or more… I guess it must be a combination of Guinness Extra Cold and Stella Artois.

Does anyone happen to have good pictures of the different feadog heads?

Pointing out the differences would help us newbies a lot!

There are pictures around here somewhere, but I don’t know where they are offhand, sorry.

I do think, though, that there could be a Frequenly Asked Question (FAQ) thread on this forum.

I personally don’t mind answering the same questions all the time, but I know as a newbie it gets frustrating being told to run a search and getting 5,000 results. It’s overwhelming to sort through everything.

It would help a lot if there were one single sticky thread that addressed all the newbie questions.

If Dale would make it sticky, I’d even be willing to write the entire thread myself, but I’m not the most qualified so I probably shouldn’t, but somebody here could do it.

No probs, barstool. Here’s some authoritative info from the ever-helpful Jerry Freeman:

BTW, Cranberry’s right. FAQ would be a great idea. :sunglasses:

Oak tubes are also extremely good tubes to put a whitecap on.

I’ve such a beastie, it’s a lovely thing, sounding and playing very similar to my Burkes.

great picture!!

thank you,

It is my belief that the bad Feadogs are bad because of the mouthpiece, not the tube.

Here’s the current photo:

From left to right, they’re:
Mark I, Mark II, Mark II and a half, Mark III

Best wishes,
Jerry

Well there goes my “oh darn I must have a mark II dog” theory.

I have a mark III stinker, I guess it could be the player…but, but, but that means I uhhhh … drat!

Nice talking to ya I have to go practice!!
