Dixon LowF

Hello Friends.
Among various Dixon whistles I’ve also got the above mentioned LowF.
Unfortunately I’ve got some problems with the LowF, I’ve emailed this to Tony Dixon, but he doesn’t seem to be around, I never got an answer. Maybe someone out there has experienced the same as I: The whistle jumps extremly quickly into the upper octave, I can barely play a lowF without the whistle jumping up, with none of my other Dixon whistles have I got this problem, they’re all superb, is there anything I can do about it, I would like to ask Tony, but, as I mentioned, he seems to be…not in.
cheers!
Amar.

hi amar-i too have a dixon low f, and dont have any problems with octave breaking on the ‘f’(i presume you mean the bellnote).my own whistle has a mellow,‘airy’ tone, not very loud-which makes for agood practise whistle,if you live in an upper storey apartment like me! i was sufficiently impressed enough by the whistle to recently purchase one of tony’s polymer flutes which i,m very pleased with. from my own personal experiences of dealing with tony, and the comments of others on the board, i,m sure that tony takes customer care very seriously, and will rectify any problem that you have with this particular instrument(as you say you have other dixons you must surely rate his work). sorry you havent been able to contact him as yet. best wishes!

Hi folks, just got news from Tony, he’s experimenting with a new wide bore F-whistle cuz he knows that the current F-whistle can be a bit weak! He’ll send me one soon (along with my newly ordered A-whistle…)
cheers, Amar.
