Divine Nectar, and a proclamation

This one goes out to all the folks around C&F who know how to appreciate a good whisky. I just had a dram which was truly epic.

-Glen Grant, single cask, first fill Sherry butt. Distilled 1958, bottled 2008.
50 year old single Speyside malt whisky.

I can only say wow. Probably the most complex stuff I’ve tasted, and acctually not overly woody, I’ve tasted 25 year olds with more wood in them (:o) . I’m waiting til tomorrow to truly evaluate it though. I got a 6cl sample at the bargain price of about $45. It’s difficult to describe the taste, and it’s not just me being hyped up about such a fine dram, my girlfriend compaired it to an ice cream she had a few weeks ago that almost made her swoon because it was so good. It was 10 minutes since I had the dram and the finish is still lingering. Amazing.

And here’s the proclamation: In honor of this whisky, I will from this day forth, end every entry I write here on C&F with the word “whisky”
So if you ever see something written by me here which does not end with “whisky”, kindly send me a PM and I’ll change it.

Now, I’m off to have some more of (sadly not the same)
whisky

:swear: Thou art an evil wretch! Nary even a sniff fer us commoners! Goin’ on about how excellent 'tis an all… fie upon ye! Thou hast loosed the demon of greed and avarice in my heart and raised the ugly green-eyed head of jealousy from its long rest, and set to life a thirst that shan’t be quenched in this locale! Again, I say, Fie be upon ye!!

(grumble… drool… mumble… swear…)

As a poor chap I swoon at the thought of ANY fine single malt. It’s a personal treat when I spend 10 bucks for a glass of Lagavulin 15. I can only imagine what such a fine and well-cared-for whisky tastes like!

My hat’s off to you my friend!

Maybe you mean Lagavulin 16? That’s a fine dram for sure. One of the best standard bottlings below 20 years out there.
I get all warm inside just talking about stuff like
