does anyone play pipes made by dinny quigley - if so what are they like?
He seems to be a pretty darn good reedmaker for the Rowsome-style Ds. I’ve never heard any of his own pipes in action but I heard a Rowsome D chanter he reeded and restored for Leo Rickard going splendidly in Wicklow last year.
Yep. I have a full set from Dinny Quigley. Originally I had the practice set, later updated it to the half and now full set. Chanter is in as close to perfect tune as Up can get, drones , good “full” sound, regs, well, only practicing on one, and from what I can make out, its in tune with chanter.
Dinny hinself is as was noted an excellent reed maker as well, so I’ve had very few reed problems! (Handy thing that, because I

Well I got the practice set about 6 years ago, I think I waited about 3 months for them, the drones took about a year after that and the regs took about two years, after ordering them. Not a bad waiting time I must admit!
