We have digital cable, and it has a number of specialty music stations. One is “Sounds of the Seasons”; it plays Christmas music at Christmas, etc. Well tonight it’s all Irish, some of it good some corny, but worth a listen especially if you’re like me and don’t own a bunch of CD’s. Channel 940 on Charter Digital Cable in my area.

We have a flute player and guitar/mandolin player on our local access channel playing IrishTrad. Pretty cool, except that I’m glued to ABC for the war stuff.
I just checked my digital cable, and it’s “lite classical.” Is this the same channel and maybe they go Irish sometimes?
Our cable music provider is Music Choice and there is Irish music currently playing on the Sounds of the Seaon channel. It was a little disconcerting to hear Leo Rowsome’s piping followed by “Silvers Threads Among The Gold”, however.
