I have just got home again to give you the good news that Lesley fought herself off the ventilator early this morning and woke up at 1300. She chuckled as she woke, so I asked what was so funny, as I was stressed out of my mind and in tears at seeing her awake again. You guessed it - the nose hair thread! Once again Chiff and Fipple saves the day.
I cannot thank you all enough.

Well I’ll be dipped in hog spit. Who would have guessed those pesky hairs would end up doing some good.
As I said before, we’re here for the long haul. I’m relieved to hear she’s off the venalator and smiling. Tell her to stay off of it this time, it’s wearin’ on me heart !

I was sorry to have started this thread, which seemed straightforward at first, but she has put us through so much I felt very guilty about all of you. However, I don’t feel I can stop now, not least because your support has meant so much to both of us and the printouts have given Lesley something to laugh at!
The latest news I have (phone call 10 mins ago) is that she is still awake and her heart is much stronger.

She’s family here! You too, now… so we needed to know, and needed to participate as much as folks who’ve never actually seen each other can.
