I can’t decide on the colapsable Laughing whistle or the Parkhurst?

Any thoughts?

Jay

I have both - I prefer the Laughing whistle -especially to play in the house - probably a little too quiet for session work.

Count me in for the opposite opinion. I really like my Parkhurst and think that it is an underdiscussed whistle. I was going to post a review the other day to remedy this but haven’t got around to it.

So, one vote for Parkhurst.

Peace,
Erik

I think it depends on what you’re looking for: If you want something quiet and/or super compact, and like a super pure tone, go with the Laughing Whistle. If you prefer something more trad looking and sounding, with greater volume, go with a Parky.

Actually, I suppose Dave makes a low volume whistle as well, come to think of it, but I haven’t tried one.

Hey Jaba,

They are two very different whistles. The Laughing is quiet (probably not session volume), light and compact. It’s an excellent whistle to carry with you as it telescopes down pretty small.

The Parkhurst is louder, relatively heavy (copper pipe) and so less easily lent to travel. I think both are good whistles, it just depends upon what characteristics you are looking for.

PS How’s your cousin Dahut doing?
