You’ll just have to live with it, and go by meaning rather than mere appearances. It’s just one of those things.
BTW, a while back someone once posted the word “snobery”, I think it was (or “snobish” - something like that), and what with it lacking the necessary other B, the spelling police had a field day. We were all calling each other snobes for at least a year. We could start doing that again if you like.
I agree with you completely, that’s why I use n00b not nOOb.
sherry, that’s the cheap stuff for daily use, consumption, or maybe “maintenance”
(I don’t like to use maintenance as that has implications, and implications can be murky if peering in the wrong end)
I’m happy with newbie… however long… but, “snowbbeer”… also works for me, only if you’re holding your pennywhistle
