I have one dead pixel on my ViewSonic 20" widescreen LCD monitor. The store won’t refund/exchange because it’s more than 30 days. They say contact the manufacturer. I have yet to do this.
I’ve been looking for another monitor and I see there is a sale on Hanns-G 19" widescreen. The salesman said ALL of the LCD’s get dead pixels and it doesn’t matter which manufacturer or what price range. There is a minimum of 5 dead pixels in an area before they will consider it a defect and replace.
Within 2 hours of operation, the Hanns-G developed a dead pixel.
This is insane!
Who else is having this kind of bad luck with LCD’s ??
What kind of band? Can’t have Dead in the title of a band and it not be a very hard rock style, generally either death metal (in which case it’d have to be in Norwegian or Swedish) or punk.
Back to the topic of the monitor though, I had some broken pixels on my first lcd monitor, which I took back to the store the same day I discovered the pixel and demanded an exchange. At this point your best bet is to contact Viewsonic about it. A dead pixel is a product defect and should be covered by the warrenty.
(Currently using an Acer 20" and no complaints…except I’d like bigger…wouldn’t we all?)
A couple years back I tried that without success to fix the dead pixel on my iBook
after Apple had told me there was nothing they were going to do about it because a dead pixel is state of the art for them.
An Apple isn’t a very good product for people with OCD I guess.
