Has anyone played or have any experience Dave’s drones? How do they compare to wood drones? Are there large accoutic differences? For some reason i think that they are extremely loud. Is this true? Thanks
I have a Daye half set and the drones impress me as having a good tone and balance between the three drones. I would say that they have “ball$.” But as these are the only Uilleann drones I have owned, I have no frame of reference for comparison.
By “extremely loud” do you mean with regard to the chanter they are accompanying or in comparison to other maker’s drone stands?
