I recently learned that Dave Shaw passed away sometime last week. I’d just been in contact with Cath about a low D (September 9th-10th) and she’d indicated his recovery from a recent surgery was proving ‘more tiring’ than expected. I assume there were complications, but I don’t have further details.
I was wondering if anyone on the board had any biographical information on Dave, or a link to any old interviews. I couldn’t find much on him or how he got started in making whistles. Shaws have been such a fixture in the whistling community for so long, it’s surprising there isn’t more information out there on him.
