Close enough, my folks spelled it Cynthea. And Cynth is pronounced like Sinth.

I thought mabey it was foreign. It looks like it could be Welsh, so I didn’t know how to pronounce it (in my head).
I’m aware that I analyse stuff like that too much, though. Then again, I didn’t know I.D.10-t’s name meant “idiot” or that Walton’s “Mellow D” stood for “Melody” for a very long time, either.
