This year, the California Traditional Music Society will be having all classes, events, exhibitors and sessions for its Summer Solstice Festival inside the Marriott Hotel in Woodland Hills (greater Los Angeles area).

Note to everyone that the schedule has just been updated to fill previous gaps, so if you looked earlier in the month, be sure to check again.

I’ll be there at least in the evenings for sessions with WFO CDs (2 & 3) on hand for anyone that wants to save on shipping. Vol. 1 will be re-pressed this summer.

I’ll be there Sunday with a armfull of Antique flutes, for anyone to play. So just look for a goofy guy with a pile of old flues…:sunglasses:
Any other C&Fers’s coming?
You should drive up, Eilam.

i don’t know if i can, i have a friend visiting (girl friend from high school, long long ago :sniffle: !!), both her and i played flute at the time, she even played accordion and some violin, but have not played in years…we’ll see, she is only here for the weekend, may see you at the sessions, Jon, i’ll call you if i can make it.
last year was really nice.

Woot!

I’ll be there both days.

This sort of thing seems rare in Los Angeles.

We’ve seen your picture Jon… Ya ain’t that goofy lookin’

I’m looking forward to meeting you in person.

That’s him, just with his hair slicked back .

Kevin Krell

Nice suit too!

I am going to try and make it. Are there going to be sessions that are not listed in the schedule?

Would one day be better than another?

I’m hoping to make it there Sunday… for those there then, we should plan to meet up… Tod

The big sessions are Friday and Saturday nights. Sunday, you might be able to get something going in a corner somewhere, or in the lobby of the hotel.

Generally Friday and Saturday nights after everyone’s had their dinner and a bit of a rest. Probably something beginning at around 8pm, but since there are festival concerts in the evenings, I see most activity after 10pm, in 3-6 different areas (ballrooms, lobby) of the hotel (some old-time, some Irish)

I thought that was Dracula.

Hi Tod!
That would be great to meet up, long time no see! The festival is so small, I think we won’t have an problem finding each other.
I have to warn you, that I will have some nice antique flutes with me…

That is a Transylvanian flute in the photo… :boggle:

Looks more like a cross between Dracula and PeeWee Herman…

Hey, that was great fun! Enjoyed both the Friday night late and the Saturday evening lobby corridor session!

I still say we should have put out the bucket… then again… we were mighty close to the restrooms.

Might not been a good thing.

I had a great time meeting the local CnFers!

Hi, all.

Thanks to you all for a nice welcome.

At least now I know that when I do learn how to play I will be able to play with some really nice people.
