We are thrilled to be sending our daughter, a freshman trumpet player, with the Colorado State University Marching Band to represent the U.S. in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin in 2013! Trying to find a way to afford for my wife and I to go over to see this memorable moment, and maybe hit a few pub sessions in the process. But without hesitation, we’ve contributed our vacation budget to fund her expenses for this once in a lifetime opportunity! I understand it’s quite the party!

Congrats to your daughter, yourself and your wife, a team effort to make it happen. Maybe you and the Mrs. can engage in some busking between now and the trip to help fund the travel. Good luck, and I hope you get to attend and watch your daughter. Perhaps you could look into a swap for lodging expenses to help offset the cost of your stay?

Congratulations to all of you. I always enjoy hearing about the big events (once-in-a-lifetime) especially for the younger folk. Hope you can work it out for all of you to attend.
