I know this has been asked before, but it seemed easier to ask again than spend hours sifting through hundreds of posts.
I don’t have a fully-keyed chanter and I’m trying to learn a reel in Amajor. So how do I cross-finger that pesky G#?

It’s a fierce tricky one without keys. Experiment with playing A off the knee with all the fingers down. Also try all finger combinations you can think of to get it as close as you can… might get something distantly resembling the G#… but probably not. This and a combination of shading… I don’t envy your task though.
