I want to mention that I am now making 4-piece flutes in the keys of low D, low C, low B, and low Bb. The photo below shows the 4-piece low D flute with two different headjoints and two endjoints. that is a great feature Doug, not only for passing the flute around but for learners that are still looking for their grip to try things.
my problem with the offset R3 is not that I play with pipers grip but that my elbow is so far from my shoulder that my right hand is coming at the flute from the far end. This makes the R3 over shoot the offset hole.
