CP new polycarbonate whistle from ethnicwind.com

Ethnicwind.com has just come out with a polycarbonate whistle that is quite fantastic. It is available in a beautiful clear model with etched knotwork and designs called the Ice model, or a gorgeous black model called the Midnight model. The sound is excellent through both octaves, very balanced with only minimal volume difference between octaves. Easy air requirements and good backpressure. It is a great session whistle, just played a low D at a session Friday and everyone loved it. Has no moisture buildup clogging issues ( or almost none). The clear model will fog up a little when you play it.

I am now allowing customers to place orders directly through the website, as this is now my full time occupation.

First of all, congrats on going full time for your craft! I love my ethnicwind whistles, and would highly recommend them to anyone who hasn’t tried one.
I got an ethnicwind low G to ‘hold me over’ till i could get a Burke in that key… well, i have no need to do that!

Very nice. If you put one on tour, sign me up. I kinda have enough D whistles  but I always enjoy trying out other folk’s craft. I’m kind of a sucker for clear stuff too-- I have some really excellent Yamaha clear plastic recorders.

I was about to very sheepishly admit that I never got over the 80s “clear” thing… but now that I see I’m not the only one, I feel better. Now the only thing that would make this even better is GLITTER embedded in the polycarb!!!

DO WANT for sure! (The other fun thing about this is that a person would have to look twice to see where the sound is coming from!)

A tour… Sounds like a splendid idea… Not sure how they work, however. But I could see how sending a few whistles around could be good. So I’ll do it.
If you’ve done one before any advice would be great and I’ll get people signed up.
In fact I’ll start a new thread for that purpose right now

I feel my lips starting to itch… clearly an early symptom of WhOA, wouldn’t you say?

I do actually have a way to make these look like they have glitter in em… Not sure if I’d like it, but I’m just saying I could do it. It would be paint, not embedded, but would look virtually the same.

Ok, so I posted the thread for a whistle tour, then I re-read the commercial posting policy and saw it got changed to one per month so after I slapped myself for breaking the rules, I deleted it. Perhaps it’s safe down here under my other commercial post not sure, but anyways I’ll have 4 whistles on a tour very soon, email me at nick@ethnicwind.com if you’d like to be included, and I’ll take suggestions for models to include.

Nick, I think we consider a whistle tour to be as much a service to Chiffboard members as a commercial promotion. So if you want to start a new thread, that’s OK.

Ok, thanks!

yes, tours are great. for most of us, that’s the only reasonable way to try out some whistles without buying them (i’ve never seen an MK, Burke, etc. at a music shop that i’ve been to)

Hi Nick. Are these tuneable or fixed? I can’t really tell from the photo or the site.
Thanks,
Jaydoc

They are tunable, but I could make them non tunable if requested
