Could someone explain this transcription note?

All,

I’ve downloaded O’Neil’s 1000 tunes and am going to start learning the Airs and I ran across this:

“Transcription: “dcde” should probably be “d^cde” in part I, measures 3, 7” for the tune 619: The Plow Boy.

I don’t understand what it’s saying especially since I don’t see a “dcde” in measures 3 & 7.

Can someone help?
