Could I be the next Jim Stone?

Waiting for the bus home today, I realized I had 15 minutes so decided to play a few tunes on the old Seery. While I was playing, someone walked by and dropped a few coins at my feet (I didn’t have a case or jar out - I was just playing to play). Well, I decided to get out my cavellaro roll, lay it flat and put the coins on it. 15 minutes later, and $3.56 richer, I caught my bus home.

Considering I was 30 feet from a jackhammer, not at a good busking location in KC, and it was 90 degrees with about 400% humidity, I think it was 15 minutes well spent!

I think I’ll have to try a prime location on the Plaza a few evenings this summer…it’s kind of addictive to have money thrown your way.

Now you’re a professional.

Don’t tell the unions!

Forget the unions don’t tell the IRS! $3.56 for fifteen minutes, that works out to $14.25 an hour, hmmmmm could I live on that? Imagine if you had a better place, say in front of an office tower at lunch time.

Good for you!

If you intend to qualify
as the next Jim Stone,
you have to type your
posts as if they were
free verse, of course.

Believe me, I have experience.

I have been busking before it is pretty fun.

It was bound to happen Eric. Congratulations.

Jayhawk, get a telescopic white cane and a pair of sunglasses. It will net you about 40% more, I would guess. Nothing dishonest about it, you have not told anyone you are blind.
