Cork replacement

I recently replaced my cork joints following advice from the great hammy hamilton.

It worked so well, and saved me a nice sum.

Anyone tried this themselves ?

Yes I’ve done it a few times, I recently bought cork duc tape which works well with a coating of super glue. I find that deeper grooves in the tenon are better to be covered in embroidery cotton, but I agree, it saves a small fortune.

Can you share how you get the extreme bevel on the cork? I’ve avoided trying it because that seems as though it would be well-nigh impossible without a special tool. Or is it unnecessary?
