Anyone have a Copeland revoiced with more back pressure? Did the tone change?
Yes, I did. (A low D) It wasn’t a major change in pressure, but some. I asked for it to be altered so it didn’t take as much air to blow. The wind requirements were reduced a little. The tone did not change except that the bell note became stronger, which was an unexpected bonus.

I’d like to have that done on mine, Tony. You’ll have to give me the details…
Justine
Tony who changed it for you?
I sent my low D back to Copeland last year and Jim Rementer had a go at it. It improved considerably, and I was charged nothing but shipping costs. Great folks there.
Tommy, I believe Jim Rementer did the work. I had sent it in to fix a small dent and asked, by the way could he do the other thing. He responded that it should be no problem. The whistle still takes a fair amount of air to play.
Justine, bring your Copeland on June 11 and we can compare the two.
Tony
Let me know if you do have your whistle revoiced, please.
I have a Copeland low D and am considering the same thing, The air requirments on this puppy are far too high for my liking now.
Thanks!
