Copeland A whistle

I received my Copeland A whistle in the mail yesterday. I am very critical when it comes to the instruments I play. If I had to rate this whistle I would give it a Perfect 10. There are no flaws to the sound, very easy to play, beautiful sound, nice low end, and it’s easy to hit a high D. I’ll say it again, Mr. Copeland has sent me a Perfect Whistle! Thanks.

How long was the wait?

Hi raindog,

I also received my Copeland A this week so it’s probably from the same batch as Alex’s. Now I can play along with Joe McKenna and Mary Bergin as they play “Contentment is Wealth” with their A whistles on “The Irish Low Whistle” CD! I ordered mine in April of last year so it’s been about 16 months.

Best wishes, Tom

Copeland Woodwinds produces whistles in batches for quality control as well as efficiency. A & Bb whisltes are of a lower demand so they are not produced as often as D & Low D whistles. The 16 month wait for the A (like you) and 17 months for my Bb (I got mine ON my birthday last week. Thanks Jim, Thanks Mike.) go with the territory of those keys. I would expect D (high or low) whistles would now be within 4-6 months.
