My photographer friend in Missouri recently sent me this.

It’s the shadow cast by street signs and a pedestrian light as she was standing at the light waiting for it to turn. She just happened to have her camera with her.

Amazing, isn’t it? Ever since she sent this to me, I’ve been noticing street sign shadows more than I ever have in my life.

It looks like a shadow of a childs hand “flying” a toy aeroplane!

Thought it was a helicopter tail-rotor.

A puppeteer’s shadow.

A mole…

Yes, but is it holy? Or holey? Or even wholey moley?

In Dublin’s fair city–
Where the moles are so pretty–
I first laid my eyes on
Sweet Moley Malone

As she wheeled her mole barrow
With large hands and eyes so narrow
Screaming, “I’m a mole! A holy mole!”
Sweet Moley Malone

I knew you’d get the point in the end, mate.

Mole loves you!!

Well…

…yes of course it is. Everything is.

I’m afraid “holy everything” does not sound quite as good and postructural as “holy moly.”

Cran,

This is not what a Mole looks like.

Trust me, I know about these things.

Slan,
D.
