Is it easy to convert guitar sheet music to whistle or flute sheet music,someone has aked me if I could find out,but I don’t really know much about sheet music.
Uh, it’s going to depend entirely on the song. The guitar has a much wider range than the whistle, and the ability to play more than one
note at a time, so if the song in question goes out of the whistle’s range, or uses more than one string at a time, it’s a little more difficult.
But, if the sheet music is just a melody line, and is in the range and key of the whistle you want to use, you don’t have to do any
conversion at all: Note are notes.
What exactly does your friend want to do?
I believe the answer is yes and no. Depending on the piece. Ussually, one would only have to play the top note on the staff to play the melody.That said, the guitar has a greater range, and so some pieces that are arranged for guitar, may not work on whistle.
I’m not exactly sure yet as to what he wants converted,but I will find out later tonight.
That would help, as there are a lot of variables.
Alos, if he’s got guitar tablature, and is calling that
“sheet music”, it’s a different problem entirely.
