Converting your flat pitched pipeto play in concert pitch !!

Since the dawn of time the owners of flat pitched sets have yearned to join their fellow musicians in sessions, but with the vast majority of sessions played in concert pitch they have had to sit on the side lines and just listen ,WELL HERE IS THE ANSWER TO THEIR PRAYERS ,!!!

What you need to do is get one bottle of helium and one bottle of air ,and with some kind of double connection these two bottles need to be connected via a pressure sensitive gas regulator to the inlet valve on your bellows
Depending on what pitch your pipes are,the mixture of helium , air ratio will have to be adjusted to bring youe pipes up to concert pitch ,but with a bit of experimenting this will be easily and quickly achieved .

I know some of you tech heads out there are saying that this will only raise the pitch of the reed so why not just put a higher piched reed in the pipes and expect that to work ,but the beauty of this system is that the helium - air mixture is travelling past the reed into the pipes themselves and because of the lower density of the vibrating medium the higher pitch is maintained .

Aword of warning here , especially to the owners of the lower pitched pipes that will need more helium than air in their mixture ,NEVER leave down your pipes (especially outside ) with a full bag as they may float away never to be seen again!!

Here’s something for all those D pipers who would become envious of all the gas bottles and hardware surrounding “flat” pipers at the sessions.

Get a bottle of Neon :smiley:

Arrange a feed into your bag. Plug your chanter into the mains to excite the atoms.

And here’s the nifty bit, coat you fingers in a phophorescent compound. Then as you played, the fingers you lifted would glow in a spooky fashion :smiley: :smiley:
