Well, I know Jack and Azalin weren’t there, so it must have been stuff piled up on the small table by the wall. Irrelevant to the subject at hand, but a real pain to move.
I can’t do this as I only ever handle toy instruments. For all I know the mug may count as one. That big, deep bodhran would make a very good pouffe if only you’d fit a cover (non-removable) on it. One banjo could just have been an accident but two looks like a terrible error. And what’s that big humbug with a mandolin neck sticking out of it?
Steve
I can’t see the picture!

Hm, that’s cos my hosting server seems to be down - again. Sorry about that. Good thing it’s free.

Is that a little Homepride man sitting on your radiator knob? Or a miniature Charlie Chaplin?
Steve
And what’s that thing on the wall? A window or a painting? If it’s a painting why is it so low?
For that matter, why is the sofa so low? It looks like you took the legs off. And why is it sitting in front of the stairs? Isn’t it inconvenient there? Blocking the door as it is? Where does that door go, anyway?
I can’t focus on the instruments . . . there are too many distracting questions to be answered.
There’s a small table just behind the sofa with stuff on it. I think the black furry thing must be my spare wig.
The sofa is what it is - sometimes sofas are low. It’s where it is for the picture only. I foolishly thought this would give the best angle for a picture. In hindsight, I was wrong, in front of the indoor swimming pool would have been better.
The door goes out and in. The stairs go down and up.
The big knob on the radiator is something to do with controlling the heat. I’m not very good with technical stuff.
The banjos belonged to my late uncle, and came to me via my father. They are both in playable condition, but nobody plays them. The tenor bvanjo weighs a ton, it’s got a solid wood back and was made in the 1950s.
The humbug is a piece of cheap tourist tat from Malta given to me by a family friend during my mandolin phase. It’s virtually unplayable, but I couldn’t politely refuse. Looks nice though.
Nobody has guessed right yet.

Hi Martin
When is the official opening of your musical instrument shop
![]()
David
So far Jbarter’s response is my favourite - it’s nice and musical and has TEN concertinas ![]()
But it’s still wrong. ![]()
I guess no one has the patience to count the whistles or the guesses would be closer to the mark. ![]()
I think jbarter should at least get honorable mention for the best answer so far - even if he’s not accurate.
I think jbarter should get a new set of Morris dancing bells!
![]()
In ‘G’ please. ![]()
Well…?
Remember this from before the closure, eh?
I’m dying to know the answer.
Slan,
D.
I gave up as soon as I saw the mug-o’-whistles. (And I don’t care what the original post said; I suspect there’s an ocarina or something hiding in the bottom of that mug.)
Damn! nobody win this yet???
Mebey y’all outta dum down the compitishun for all’ussn folks 'reound 'ere.
- And that’s my final offer
