[COMMERCIAL POST] Revised Stealth Mouthpiece

The Stealth mouthpiece was originally intended to be mostly an aesthetic improvement over the previous design, but that has changed.
I added a tapered windway to the design before any shipped, which creates a more focused windstream and helps reduce condensation buildup.
The tapered windway also eliminates the ‘hump’ that was present at the windway entrance, which allows more variation in the angle at which you hold the whistle without having adverse effects on performance.
The last few Stealths to ship have also had an internal modification devised by Ronaldo Reyburn.
I had to enhance the photo to show the details of the ‘fipple tabs’, but I think it turned out OK.

The modification creates flat internal sides that are flush with the sides of the window, while still leaving the top and bottom curved.
This creates a constriction inside the mouthpiece that doesn’t reduce the depth of the window or obstruct it in any way.
The improvement in the tuning of the second octave is impressive… the upper notes still require a bit more push, but can easily be blown in tune.
I couldn’t be happier with the revised Stealth… it’s the whistle I’ve always wanted to be able to make!
My thanks to Ronaldo for giving me the OK to incorporate his idea into my whistles… fipple tabs rock!

From your web page,I can’t check the exit of the windway on your whistle.

I cant know your whistle perfectly without playing it of course but there are many hints of how it really sounds in the look of the whistle.

Just a request.

Good idea, Hiro… I’ve updated my website to include a close-up photo of the windway exit.

The windway entrance has a flat bottom and a curved top, but the bottom gradually changes from flat to curved before reaching the exit.
