Come on Johnny Foreigner, let's see what you're made of.

Here’s a little quiz on being British. I only got 13/15 (must be those Irish forebears let me down). See if you can out-Brit a Brit.

They won’t let me in again. 6 right. The only one I was sure about was the M…(That thing they have a copy of in the Salisbury Cathedral…don’t want to give away answers!)

Perhaps this explains why the 25 or so % of my ancestors who were Brit, not Scot, left.

(edit: typo fix. I love JB. He’d already fixed it in his quote.
A perfectionist after my own heart.)

There’s another copy here in Lincoln about half a mile from where I am right now.

I managed 9 but the thought of a seat on the local council gives me shivers. ( result standard).

My excuse is my grandfather’s US pedigree

I only got 4 right. Can you tell I’m completely not british?

Well, at least I know what the Magna Carta is…

I ain’t a furrner. I was borned rightchere in this county! I did live in a forne land, wonst upon a time. Furrners everwhare I turned. It kind of give me a new respect for how they must feel leaving their forne countries and comin’ over here. It ain’t easy… a-tall.

13!!! I missed 7 (where did Father Christmas come from) and #10.

I looked the rest up on the wonderful internet or guessed. I also found a copy of the report of the “Life in the United Kingdom” advisory group.

Interesting reading. It’ll come in handy in the next “immigration” thread on the political board.

I only got 7 right. I am sorry to say I didn’t know about all those Saint’s Days, much less the order they go in. Let’s see, there’s George…David…but then who is first? Oh dear  .

I got 6. Would have had a few more, but I talked myself out of them. Like the Magna Carta one . . . it seemed suspiciously obvious.

This one continues to baffle me:

Can someone explain how 112 is going to help? It’s not the number you call here (911). Is it the number everywhere else in the world?

It is in the rest of Europe I believe.

Ayup Johnny (and Jenny) Foreigner, have you noticed that none of the other Brits on the board have had the bottle to try the test yet? Maybe they’re worried about where they might be sent if they flunk it.

I only got 6, and a couple of those were lucky guesses.

Of course I’ve only ever pretended to be English.

I could only find 14 questions.

Hmmm…well at least I got the Pub questions right.

I got 7 correct…

You realise you’ll never here the end of it if Av beats your score. :stuck_out_tongue:

Only 6. My grandmother from Sheffield would be embarrassed.

I disagree with one answer. I’m going to try that “white print in quote box” trick so as not to spoil the quiz for others:

On the question about the lawyer, I’d rather have a more expensive one who knows what he or she is doing!

Neat - just highlight the box to see the words! Thanks to whoever posted that trick a while back!

Charlene - I answered that one the same as you did…

I got 10, but that included a couple of guesses.

I’m not worried, I’m already in, so I don’t need to pass the test!
