Yes, I second that.

Who is the colts?
Colts big favorites over Bears by Vegas book makers

This has been an exceptional year for football. I actually sat down and watched more than I had in at least ten years. The playoff games were really exciting for the most part. I am glad Indy made it and am rooting for them to win. I had hoped the Saints would make it too because they are so talented and fun to watch. Against the trend the Bowl might even be a good game.
I look forward to getting past the “black coach” thing because it just gets annoying after a while, but then the press has two weeks to hype so no stone can be left unturned.
I hate to say this, but the Pats deserved to lose based on their on-field performance. The Colts were the better team yesterday.
GO BEARS!
The funniest thing is that Lovie Smith has already told them not to ask about that anymore, so when they do ask him he seems to ignore the question completely.
Yeah, sooner or later we’ll find out why his name is Lovie, too…
Ay yi yi. Baltimore is croaking. The Ravens’ loss to the Colts a couple weeks ago merited this huge headline: “PURPLE PAIN!”
I trust most football fans know the story.
I am the most disinterested of people when it comes to football, but I certainly noticed this year.
OTOH, I used to travel to Indianapolis for hardware trade shows, and am convinced that, much as Baltimore doesn’t appreciate Indianapolis, Indianapolitans loooove their sports teams. Hard to begrudge such dedicated fans.
The Super Bowl has already been played. The Colts won, in a great match against the Patriots.
The game to be played in 2 weeks (why do they do that?
) is a consolation match for the Bears. They’re going to trampled by the Colts. Rex will then be ex-Rex.
I concur. Conrgratulations and good luck to the Colts. And, of course, wait till next time.
But that doesn’t mean its not special to African Americans. Having the coaches of both teams being Black sort takes race out of the match. Neither’s team has to win because their coach is Black.
That battle was won when they prooved their skill to be coach.
Its going to be an interesting next couple of weeks and game.
Tony (the Colt’s coach) was Lovie (the Bear’s coach)'s mentor. They’re said to be best of friends.
I hope that friendship influences the commentary on this list.
Seriously though, nobody’s made ANY mention of this being the first major sports championship game in which one of the head coaches is named Lovie.

I guess its a Southern (he’s from small town Texas) and/or African American thing.
His parents were expecting a girl and had planned to name him after his aunt Lavana.
When they discovered he wasn’t a girl they gave him a name that they culturally thought was the male version of his aunt’s name.
