I recently discovered the cd “Farewell to Evening Dances” and enjoy it immensely. Has O’Donnell continued to record and or tour?
He’s got a new band, the Border Collies. They’ve released a CD (late last year, I think) and they’re playing gigs here and there (including at least one in the US in September, it appears).

And it turns out they’ve been together since 2002. How’d I manage to not hear of them for two years? Sigh.
Colm is amazing. Great singer, flute and whistle player, composer. In his spare time he breeds Border Collies. The Border Collies CD (Unleashed) is very nice; it was released late last year. I have a feeling that he created the group as an outlet for his daughter, but that’s ok, since she’s very good too. The CD is very pleasant to listen to.
