Have any of you Seattlites heard of this band? They’ve been performing at the Conor Byrne regularly. I’ll be in Seattle on Saturday and was considering stopping by for a listen.
What would be really cool is if flute player Conor Byrne performed at the pub Conor Byrne.
Nope, I haven’t seen them either Aaron, but I am curious with the ‘Celtic’ in their description. I’d be interested to see how trad they are.
I haven’t met him (or actually caught him live), but I beleive Conor Byrne is a fiddle player (and the one who owns/started the pub), and was one of the original members of the Gaels.

I was a bit suspicious about the Celtic thing too but they refer to Hanz Araki, Finn McGinty, and all of the other Seattle ITM mafiosos as Celtic too.
I didn’t know about the Conor Byrne who the pub is named after. But there is a Conor Byrne flute player. He’s on one of the WFO CDs and he did a duet CD with Maebh O’Hare. They did a session video on Custy’s .
Clay Pipe are Joe Martin (vocals and harmonica), Wayne Quinn (vocals, accordion, guitar and sometimes hammered dulcimer) and Jim Douma (vocals, banjo). They really are more oriented toward folksongs than traditional instrumental music. Think Clancy Brothers and not Bothy Band. They’re all excellent musicians and great guys. All of them have real day jobs.
