I just got a Classical Fake Book (with over 600 tunes & songs) and after browsing thru it, I see that there’s a surprising number of pieces that can be played on the whistle.

Also, it looks like Handel’s Hallejuah Chorus is actually playable! The range isn’t as much as you’d think, and there’s just a few incidentals (is that what you call the sharps & flats that aren’t part of that key?). Of course, it might be a bitch to get thru, but wouldn’t THAT be a nice thing to be able to play for the holidays?

I can see I’ve got my work cut out for me.

That sounds like fun–I’ve been having Bach fantasies recently.

Oh yeah, it’s “accidentals.” Or, as a musician/instructor I know says, “accidentals waiting to happen.”
