I’m new to whistle but not new to music. I have the walton guinness whistle in d and I just bought a clarke sweetone in c. It seems as though the last hole on the sweetone is quite out of porportion with the rest of the holes on the whistle. Is this normal? My other whistle seems to be in porportion.

It’s normal for a key of C Sweetone, though it’s harder to play comfortably because of that. Awhile back (I don’t know how long), Clarke adjusted the fingerhole configuration on the C Sweetones to make them play better in tune. The earlier C Sweetones were easier to finger, but they were badly out of tune.

It took me a few hours to get used to it, but it seems a little easier to play now. Do you know how the sound of a sweetone differs from a clarke original? I just going through a bunch of different whistles until I find one I really like. I ordered a couple of generation whistles also.
