Anyone know what the opening tunes are for each of their trad programs? Ronan Burke uses an O’Carolan piece and all the rest sound really familiar, but I can place the tune names.
All I know for sure is Si Bheag, Si Mhor on Ronan’s show.
What I want to know is what’s up with those freaking goofy commercials!?
The music for Joan Hanrahan’s intro is Noel Hill and Tony Linnane playing “Anderson’s / Carthy’s [sic, AKA Man of the House] /Sweeny’s Reels.”
Claire Keville uses Paddy Canny’s “Dunphy’s Hornpipe” for the Tuesday show.
I used to know what the little bodhran clip is at the beginning of Paula Carroll’s Wednesday program, but I’ve forgotten. ![]()
As noted, Ronan uses “Si Bheag Si Mhor” by Carolan, played by Cormac Breathnach.
Pat Costello uses “Fisher’s Hornpipe” for the Friday program.
AH something that I know…the bodhran bit is from the opening of Queen of Sheeba in Galway (De Dananan’s how the west was won)
The San Diego contingent comes through again!!!
Right.
