Claire Mann CD recommendation

I’d like to recommend this self-titled CD, which I’d just received. She is annoyingly talented on flute, fiddle, whistle and vocals, while I struggle to learn just ONE instrument. It’s a pretty well-balanced CD, illustrating her many abilities, and provided with good arrangement and accompaniment throughout by Aaron Jones (guitar & bouzouki) and others. In my opinion, her flute playing is particularly expressive, and there’s one blow-out flute track (The Commodore set). Claire provides both flute on fiddle on most tracks, and I was surprised at how much flute was actually incorporated. Somehow I had expected a fiddle-heavy CD. I had contacted her when I was laying out the Wooden Flute Obsession CD, but she was still working on this solo release at the time. Perhaps on WFO 2.

Invariably someone will ask, “What’s she playing on?” The flute answer is a fully keyed Wilkes.
