So as you can guess from the title I’m looking for a set of Cillian’s pipes. I have cash waiting and I also have a set to swap. The set is a 1901 O’Mealy set. Does COB make flat sets? Never heard of any.
I remember one of his old paper price lists said CONCERT PITCH ONLY in large, bold font at the top. I suspect that hasn’t changed. I vaguely recall asking him about this once (more than ten years ago), and I think his reply was something on the lines of, “Well, flat pitch pipes are nice, but if you want a flat set, there are other makers who make nice flat sets already, so why bother?” I can’t really see his design aesthetic being applied to flat pipes. Just not his thing.
