Christmas Brekkie

Its alread midday Christmas Day here in Eastern Australia.
I was listening to the medieval religious music of Hildegard von Bingen this morning as I ate my Chrissy Breakfast of:

cold mango and cherry and passionfruit salad
with freshly ground flaxseed with a touch of cardamom

The cardamom is the secret of so many things dessert.

Tell us about your breakfast.

Cinnamon rolls and hot coffee !

I can’t wait…

On my menu, I have orange rolls and a huge cup of coffee planned… yum!

My daughter who cooks, upon learning that I had no special Christmas breakfast planned, made chocolate chip scones.
(she’s the one on my right…left side of pic)

Yep, we’ve got dough rising in the fridge for sticky buns. It’s a yeast dough heavy with butter, and the goo is butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and pecans. I can’t wait, either.

Oatmeal–actual oats, not instant–and tea.

It’s my favorite meal.

My husband always makes us Christmas breakfast…Gingerbread waffles with real maple syrup (mega-yum!), vegetarian sausage, coffee for us grownups and eggnog (non alcoholic, of course) for our wild child.

Its funny how the Cs have it for Christmas! I mean C for Christmas and C for coffee, cinnamon, cardamom, chocolate chip …
Everyone had a C in their menu except for poor Peggioh!
Maybe Peggy might put a pinch of clove in her oatmeal?
:sunglasses:

Peggy checked the freezer twice, but was unable to find the cardamom or the cloves. She did, however, find TWO jars of cinnamon.

Cinnamon it will be.

Frosted flakes.

And I belatedly realised that having had breakfast meant I shouldn’t play my new harmonica right away, hehe

Actually I didn’t know Christmas breakfast was supposed to be a special one.

Edit - Frosted Flakes is Cereal - I didn’t think I had to spell it out.

Well all I had was a small bowl of muesli with soy milk and a cup of tea. But I got up very late and Christmas dinner was only a couple of hours away.

Putting the “cup” in your post is cheating. The C has to be in one of the items that you consumed. Otherwise your breakfast is a failure. See?

OK, I had cereal.

For me a vast, steaming mug of Lyon’s Original w/milk and sweetener.

Oh Gee Wizz Joseph and Avanutria!
You really dont get it do you? You havent got the secret of this topic!
You jest dont belong in our little C for clique! :stuck_out_tongue:
Good Night to you all. Tis nearly 2 in the morning here.
Tomorrow its
BOXING DAY BREKKIE!!!

I wasn’t sure what I was going to make this morning, but since I got up pretty much before anyone else did, I decided to make bananas foster. It turned out pretty good

(edited to add something with a C..hmm..what as it…oh yeah, cereal)

Ohhhhhhh! (whacks head) NOW I ‘C’…heh. OK, lemme try this again…I had a vast, steaming mug of Lyon’s Original w/milk and sweetener…

…along with a crispy, crunchy, chocolate chip Christmas cookie. :stuck_out_tongue:

Darjeeling tea. That’s it.

Christmas Day meal (fried chicken and baked acorn squash) to follow.

Breakfast this morning was Eggs Benedict and Tampico “juice.” It used to be Christmas Crunch Cereal, but that sort of went away when family members started reacting to the sugar and artificial color overdoses.
