Chopin with an accent

Does anyone know any good recordings of Chopins works performed with a Slavic musical accent? Many people have recorded his music but not many pianists seem to possess that accent, which makes it slightly unsatisfactory for me because to my mind many of his phrases are just begging for that treatment. Oh yeah, I’m looking for someone thats not Artur Rubinstein..

Thanks!

I can’t really answer your question – I don’t know of any artists who play Chopin with a Slavic accent. But I know what you mean.

A brief detour: I came across these recordings of Chopin played on a Chopin-era piano. A very sparkly and interesting sound:

Hey Eldarion, I was practicing and my brain went over your thread and I thought you meant “Shopping with an accent” so I thought you were coming down to America to shop or something  Well, I guess not… Anyway, long time no see, just wanted to say hello!

I recall seeing something on TV, 60 minutes maybe, about a Chopin competition in Poland. Music to make you cry, that’s for sure.
