Chieftain Low D

Hello folks

I’m new here. I’m an ex-piper who has decided to teach himself to play the low whistle.

I treated myself to a Chieftain Low D and have been reacquainting myself with the tricky grip. However, I can’t do anything with the tuning slide; it seems to be stuck fast.

Am I missing something, or is there a simple explanation?
