cheap cassete recorder

i woukd like to record my playing so i can understand the pain im putting my wife and cats thru but i just want something cheap and simple. :astonished: can any one suggest a cheap cassete recorder that works resonably well

Hey Greg. IMO, cassette recorders are not the greatest in the world, what with the digital age and all. About a month or so ago, I bought a Sony ICD-B120 digital Voice Recorder from Target for about $40, and it makes a nice recording of just about anything, from musical instruments to lectures. Good battery time, and smaller than a typical cell-phone.

Believe it or not, All you need is your computer and an inexpensive mic. I use my mic that came with my gateway. Get Audacity for free on the internet and you can save as MP3 files or burn CD’s. It is a truely amazing tool that can really help you to improve.

IMO, the microphone that came with my computer (built-into the monitor) stinks. If I do any recording without my Sony recorder, it’s with the mic that is built-in to a Logitech webcam I have. Much better quality. Audacity is a good program, but for my personal tastes, I like using the basic Windows Sound Recorder.
